Napa House – Farhad Ashofteh Architect

This new house and vineyard was developed just off the famous Silverado Trail in Napa.

The Owners wanted a Modern house but wanted the exterior to have a Tuscan feel. The house and the motor court are separated by a courtyard, Before entering the house, one would have to go through the courtyard which has a fountain in the center and is lined with Pistachio trees. The house blocks the view of the valley on the other side. Before

This picture of the site is taken during the architect's first site visit. The land and the immediate area had no prior development. the first idea was to slightly change the topography of the site to create a knoll and place the house on it.

A Tuscan villa with Modern Interiors in Napa Wine country

The owners of this house envisioned a building that was modern but had a bit of old world charm. The “U” shape floor plan creates an entry courtyard withing the property which form a second layer of privacy within the vineyard and prevents the visitors to drive right next to the entrance. The courtyard with its fountain and the pistachio trees allows the visitors to mentally detox before entering the building.
